The Past Never Forgotten

It is all over. The torture and pain have become the past. But the war heroes and heroines who bravely fought for this nation of ours will never be forgotten.
The stories of the POWs have been told. Now it's their turn.

Lim Bo Seng:
Lim Bo Seng was part of Force 136. He was captured by the Japanese and interrogated. When he refused to reveal anything about Force 136, the Japanese put him under extreme forms of mental and physical torture, but he endured through all the way. Finally, Lim Bo Seng became ill with dysentery and died bedridden without food on Jun 29, 1944.

Adnan Saidi
Adnan Saidi led a 42-strong platoon from the Malay Regiment to defend Singapore at the Pasir Panjang Ridge in the Bukit Chandu area. Although they were severly outnumbered, and had shortages of both food and ammunition, Adnan urged his men to fight to the end, and his orders were obeyed. They held off the Japanese from the area for 2 days. Adnan was shot but he still continued fighting for Singapore's defence. Finally he was captured and hung from a cherry tree. But he still did not die, so the Japanese shot him and bayoneted him to death.

Mdm Cheng Seang Ho

Mary Seah - Angel of Changi
